RISING TALENTS OF ATLANTA BEGINS ITS SEARCH FOR
HIGH SCHOOL VOCALISTS AND PERFORMERS
Local talent showcase and scholarship program announces summer online sign-ups.
ATLANTA, GA (June 11, 2007) – Rising Talents of ATLanta (RTA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to discovering, coaching, showcasing and rewarding local high school vocal talent, is proud to announce that the first step of their talent search has begun. Beginning in June, students can visit the organization’s website and sign-up to receive information regarding the audition process throughout the summer.
“This competition will be an unparalleled growth experience for rising talents to advance their musical education and performing capabilities,” said Roger Sheffield, President of RTA who will be rewarding the students with scholarships as well as grants for their host schools’ music or fine arts departments.
In September, RTA will invite students from all public and private high schools in metro Atlanta to submit a CD recording of two songs (one of their choosing and one pre-selected by RTA judges). Judges will screen the applicants, and through a series of callbacks and will select a group of fifteen students to be performers in a musical variety entertainment event.
As they train for the entertainment event, our performers will have the rare opportunity of receiving individual coaching for voice and stage performances from industry professionals.
The February entertainment event will showcase the students’ talent, as the performers will present two songs each. Event judges will evaluate student performances on a variety of criteria and award scholarship money to three students. The host schools of the top three performers, as determined by the judges, will also receive grants for their music or fine arts departments.

Rising Talents of ATLanta (RTA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the artistic education of high school vocalists through participation in professional coaching, an entertainment showcase event and scholarship competition.
