RISING TALENTS OF ATLANTA ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF ITS APPLICATION PERIOD FOR HIGH SCHOOL VOCALISTS.
ATLANTA, GA (August 22, 2007) – Rising Talents of ATLanta (RTA) announced today the beginning of its application period for high school vocalists. The application period will remain open through September 20th. RTA President Roger Sheffield announced the opening of the application process in conjunction with a complete makeover of the website stating that “we have contacted all 117 public and private high schools in the five-county region around Atlanta .”
As part of the application process students must submit two songs on a CD. The first song must be an a cappella version of the Star Spangled Banner. The second song is of the student’s choosing and can be of any genre with no restrictions on instrumental accompaniment. “It’s interesting to note”, commented Sheffield , “that it’s not uncommon for many schools to have a few talented vocalists who do not take part in their school’s musical theater or choral music programs. For these students, RTA’s program could be a perfect outlet for their talent to become recognized.”
Sheffield also noted that RTA’s website presently provides the performance evaluation sheet that their screening judges will use so that students will understand how their presentations will be evaluated.
